Gorelord - Norwegian Chainsaw Massacre

GORELORD doesn't exist as a band anymore. "Norwegian Chainsaw Massacre" is most likely the band's swan song as the subtitle "The Final Cut" on the cover says.
The first sonic GORELORD attack took place in 2001 when "Force Fed On Human Flesh" forced its way from the underground. "Zombie Suicide Part 666" showed its ugly face in 2002 and the sound of chainsaw on the band's third and final outing leads us through the quintessence of what GORELORD has been all about, twisted and well-crafted grind-core.
Not the most extreme variety that's out there, but nonetheless grind-core. And I would say that it's more to core on "Norwegian Chainsaw Massacre" than on the two previous albums.
There's a lot of blastbeats, abrupt transitions and sticky groovy riffs in many song on the album, while others are more introverted and not that brutally expressive. All instruments is handled by main-man and only remaining member, Frediablo. He does all the vocals as well, except on "The Glorification Of Violence" which is sung by Dom Lawson from Kerrang! Magazine (!).
Frediablo leads us on the last GORELORD journey with one of the most beautiful intros I can remember having heard on a metal album, before he let his musical hell brake loose. A catchy and pretty fascinating and, in fact, also a well structured musical grind-core hell until he closes the GORELORD chapter with a long keyboard ambient piece painting pictures in my head at least, a dead and abandoned world… A great piece of music, but for those who finds floating keyboard sounds utterly boring can, of course skip this one, as it is the final cut on GORELORDs final cut.
GORELORD is probably history. Too bad, if you ask me, but Frediablo will still raise his voice in other constellations, one of them is Grimfist...
