Lethal Saint - Lethal Saint
Reviewed by Eddie Risdal in 3/13/2010
These four boys hailing from the metal island Cyprus knows the heavy metal recipe, and does it exactly how it should be, just much worse than most others. The music they present is as original as a new Motörhead album, the lyrics is a study in clichés and the cover must have been drawn by one of the boys in a boring math class. Their looks is also worth a mention, classic eighties look, blue jeans, black leather jackets and high curly hair.
If this had been their first demo, consisting of three or four of their least annoying tracks it wouldn't have been this bad, but when they manage to present an album with 12 songs and 70 minutes of music it is nothing but a heavy metal overdose. When about 8 of the songs follow the same song structure, with chord progression like E minor - C and D, and additional similar vocal melodies, it feels like listening to the same bad song through most of the record. And they seldom know to stop in time, most of the songs are way too long.
This isn't completely useless though, as a few songs on the stereo on a boring metal party would easily raise the mood. A song like "Final Prayer" is fun when it starts and everybody play out of sync, in particular the bassist. And when the vocalist tries some "funny" twist on the chorus and end up singing in a completely different key than the music, you just start to shake your head and think what the hell he's thinking of.
If LETHAL SAINT still is around in ten years time they probably/hopefully laugh too when they listen to this crap. Completely worthless and annoying unless taken in small doses together with alcohol!
