Chaos In Paradise - Demo
Reviewed by Eddie Risdal in 5/11/2010
Portuguese quintet CHAOS IN PARADISE serves us a more than ok debut demo here. Through four tracks and 17 minutes we get some well played, well produced and cleverly arranged music, mostly dealing in what I would say is a mix between plain heavy metal and the earliest period of Lacuna Coil. The latter might also be partly due to the similarities vocalist Sara has with Cristina Scabbia at times.
They show proof of managing both the harder and softer sides, but on the final track, "Antagonized", they loose it a bit, and it ends up a bit chaotic and messy at times. This is nothing that ruins the overall impression much though, as they display more than enough talent on the rest of the songs. Really looking forward to the continuation, which is said to be a new demo within the end of the year. I only can wish them good luck with that. In the meantime check out their first demo, available for free download, you find the link on their Myspace page.
